Experience
lawnenvy was founded by Richard Wheeler - Richard began his career as a green keeper at Burhill golf course. Here he learned the techniques and secrets to creating and maintaining a healthy, durable, weed-free lawn. As a qualified green keeper Richard can offer you the benefits of this experience to create a lawn that will be the envy of your neighbours.

Lawn care techniques:
Scarification
Over a prolonged period of time dead grass, grass clippings and leaves build up in the lawn, this is known as thatch.
Excessive thatch will suffocate the grass and encourage disease and moss problems, it will also prevent vital nutrients
reaching the grass roots.
Scarifiying removes this thatch build up and helps breath life back into your lawn.
Aeration
Annual aeration is essential to a healthy lawn. At lawnenvy we recommend
yearly solid tine aeration. However if your
lawn is badly compacted then we would perform hollow tine aeration. This removes small cores from the lawn, we would then advise
the lawn to be topdressed.
This can be undertaken as a one off service or as part of a lawn care programme and is recommended as a once a year treatment.
Pest Control and Diseases
There are a number of typical turf pests and diseases we see which can create problems for your lawn:
- Chafer Grubs
- Leather jackets
- Worms
- Fusarium patch
- Red Thread
We have treatments and methods to manage these issues to ensure the overall quality and health of your lawn.
Fertiliser
Slow release fertilisers are designed to release nutrients over a given period to create a steady consistent growth. At lawnenvy we review your lawn condition and distribute the right balance of fertiliser evenly across the lawn to achieve the best results.
Over-seeding
Over-seeding enables us to adjust the mix of grasses in a lawn to tailor it to the conditions and also to replace older grass.
Effective over-seeding requires both preparation and aftercare to create the right environment for the seeds to germinate and
grow. This technique helps to repair thinning lawns and to improve density and thickness overall. It also improves disease resistance.
Top Dressing
Lawns can become uneven due to heavy duty use, foot traffic, children playing etc… A top dressing will improve the smoothness of your lawn, improve lawn health and drainage, reduce thatch and cracks/gaps. It will also assist lawn mowing. This is usually applied after aeration or scarification for best results.
